Freshman year:

I started going to East High xc summer workouts the first day of summer once I had finished 8th grade. I was the only freshman for several weeks, and I felt so slow because I always got lost and could never keep up. Once in the season, I made my way up to the 7th varsity runner, so I was our 7th runner at regions and I pulled off a 5th runner at state that year. We won regions that year. My mile PR was 6:07, and I did not make it to state.

Sophomore year:

I did xc again, and I had made my way up to the top 4 varsity runners, Amanda and I were always the 3rd and 4th runners, depending on the day. I finished 5th overall at our region meet with a PR of 19:25, and we won regions again and went on to state, where I placed 50th. In track, I finally broke 6 and got a PR of 5:44, and my 2 mile best was a 12:20. I didn't make it to state track that year either.

Junior year:

I made my way up to number 2 on varsity, and I got 2nd at regions and went onto get 35th at state. My season best was an 18:44. For track, I've been getting better at the 2 mile. My PR right now is an 11:40, but since I've made it to state I plan on getting a PR. I'm also going to state as an 800 runner in our Medley relay with Avvy, Sara, and Ellie.

Personal:

I did XC my freshman year at East because all of my siblings had done it so I thought I would try. It's the worst yet best decision of my life, because even though it's put me through so much pain and agony, and I've made the best friends a person can only dream of.

Oh yeah, I'm the youngest of 5.

30 minutes of running. I stopped at 3 miles. I ran along the river at Sugarhouse to be in the shade. Now this trackie wants a snackie.

Today was our last speed workout of the season. We did the usual full team warm up and drills, then did another half mile warm up and 1 mile speed changes. Then we did 3 sets of 4 200s. It was really hot and rough but I survived. We just did 2 grass laps cool down. Even though it was only 5 miles, I collapsed when I got home.
